Project description

A blackout is not just a (Europe-wide) power outage, but the collapse of almost all supply infrastructures. Telecommunications (cell phones, landlines, internet), traffic and logistics, fuel supply, water supply and sanitation, finance, production, etc. are affected.

The Energiezelle-F project dealt with the main areas of responsibility for blackout prevention in Feldbach: the citizens' own provisions and the provision of emergency supplies for the population. The residents of the city of Feldbach were made aware of the topic of blackout and the preparatory measures that were carried out enabled the city to take important steps towards blackout security.

The implementation of the extensive preparatory measures will continue after the end of the project. The results of the research project and the tireless efforts of the people involved have made the City of Feldbach a model city in terms of preparing to cope with a blackout.
