Project description

Within the scope of the Smart City entry project “IrON Eisenstadt”, methods were developed that contribute to strengthening the role of an industrial area as a technology hub (“TEC-HUB”) in Eisenstadt.

Holistic, cross-sector scenarios were developed for the study area. Both the energy demand and the energy consumption structure of the existing energy and mobility system were taken into account.

In a first step, eleven relevant areas of the TEC-HUB were identified, and the relevant sub-concepts created. These were combined to form an overall TEC-HUB concept.

Action plans list measures that are necessary to achieve the goals - i.a. the increase in energy efficiency and a contribution to the expansion of renewable energies in the context of the Burgenland's energy strategy for 2020 and 2050.
