Project description

The change in the energy industry towards an increasing share of renewable and decentralized energy supply is increasingly creating challenges. In order to cope with these, the focus is on flexibilities - above all battery storage systems - whose economic efficiency can only be achieved with optimal use.

The goal of the FeldBATT project is the concept development for the operation of a district battery storage system in the urban environment of Feldbach. This is to be used to increase the self-consumption rate of local renewable generation in buildings that are connected to the storage facility via direct lines.

For this purpose, business models for the increase in self-consumption as well as other areas of application of the storage (balancing energy provision, emergency power supply, etc.) are developed. The concept developed in this way is implemented and analyzed as part of a demonstration system.
