Monitoring of a recommendation system to increase comfort in living spaces

In the Smart Cities project Empower Citizens the recommendation system for increasing comfort "Easy Energy Saver" was developed, which pursues the following goals:

Raising awareness of the energy requirements for heating and cooling

• Increase in comfort and quality of life
• Avoidance of mold growth
• Reduction of energy costs

"Easy Energy Saver” aims to monitor the pilot application of the recommendation system in several buildings.

In times of COVID-19, ventilation has become more important. Although proper ventilation is not complicated, healthy ventilation behavior must be learned and anchored in the routine.

The "Easy Energy Saver" is a recommendation system that uses visual and acoustic signals to stimulate ventilation, as well as shading and heating. The system works passively - the person ultimately decides whether to follow the recommendations. The recommendations should result in a learning effect that enables people to use their apartments in an energetically optimal way, taking comfort and health aspects into account.
