Smart decision support system for urban energy and transportation

In  DESENT, a “decision support system” based on user-centered models was developed. The key components of these models are people's choices about their activities that determine energy consumption in buildings and for transportation. An activity-based tool for forecasting travel needs and transport energy consumption and a combination with tools for energy consumption forecasts in buildings complete the system. In addition, a smartphone app was developed that relates to the energy awareness of individual users, as well as a “mobility platform” - an interactive web application for the provision of mobility services - which enables users to identify the best mobility option.

As part of DESENT, efforts were made to implement the developed models and tools in demo cities.
